Sautéed Chicory with Turmeric, Ginger and Lemon is a healthy and tasty side dish that goes well with both meat and fish.

Quick to make, it is an original way to serve up some veggies. The turmeric and ginger give make this dish a perfect antinfiammatori natural remedy, while the lemon really gives that extra flavour.
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 1 head of fresh Chicory
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tbsp ground turmeric
- 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and minced
- 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sunflower seeds (optional)
In a skillet heat up the oil, then add the garlic cloves (cut in half), the turmeric and ginger. Sauté for a few minutes.
Wash and cut the chicory, add it to the skillet. Season with salt. Stir around for 1-2 minutes then add 2 tbsp of water, lower heat, cover with a lid and let cook until veggies are soft.
Squeeze in the juice of half lemon and keep cooking for a few more minutes, allowing all the juice to slight up and caramelise a bit. Turn off the heat and sprinkle with some sunflower seeds for some extra crunch.
Serve it up!
