The Valentine’s Oreo Cheesecake is a delicious sweet treat with a crunchy Oreo crust and a sweet filling decorated with chocolate Oreo hearts and syrup, perfect to make for your better half on Valentine’s Day!

For a very long time I kept calling Valentine’s day “S.Valentine’ s day” until one day my boyfriend of the time, pointed out that in English there is no Saint Valentine…
bear with me! I come from Italy where every day is a Saint name and in Italy we actually call Valentine’s day, S. Valentine’s day.
Said that, let’s talk food.
This is an old recipe I first made back in 2011. At that time I was looking around for some original recipes for this occasion, I was watching foodnetwork the other night and Martha Sweart was showing how to make heart-shaped pancakes, they were cute, and I fell in love with the idea, but I realized they were still pancakes, with all respect for pancakes I was looking for something a bit more original. So I started thinking of what kind of food my boyfriend of the time really liked and, after chicken soup – which would not really make a Valentine’s dish – I could only think of Oreos, I mean who doesn’t love Oreos? SO I decided to make an Oreo cheesecake!
Make this for your Valentine, if you have one. And if you don’t, make it for yourself!
for the crust
- 2 packages of oreo (150 g/pck)
- 1/3 cup butter
for the filling
- 250 g cream cheese
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- chocolate syrup (to decorate)
Start from the crust
Grab 1-1/2 package of oreos
divide the cookies from the cream
throw the cream away or … eat it!
Place all the cookies in a zip lock bag, seal it well
and using a rolling pin finelly cruh them. Of course, if you have a food processor you could easily process them…
Melt 1/3 cup butter and pour it onto the cookie crumble and stir well
Heavily grease a 9 inch spring form pan
and press firmly the crushed cookies onto the bottom. Leave out about 2/3 cup of the crumbled cookies
Grab a baking paper and a heart-shaped cookie cutter
Place some crushed cookie inside the cookie cutter and using the edge of your rolling pin firmly press the crumble inside the cutter
gently remove the cookie cutter. Here you go! You’ll have a nice heart-shaped oreos. Make 3 more using the remaining crumble, we are going to decorate our cheesecake with those hearts
Put in the refrigerator crust and hearts to chill.
Meantime, make the filling.
Cream creamcheese and 2/3 cup of sugar
add 1 egg at a time and mix well inbetween additions keep beating until you get a very creamy and smooth batter
Add heavy cream and vanilla extract
Grab the remaining half package of oreos and chop them up
Gently stir in chopped oreos
Spread the batter onto prepared crust and bake at 160 for about 50 min. (If necessary to prevent top from overbrowning, tent with foil during last 15 to 20 minutes of baking time.)
When you think your cheesecake just need 10 more minutes in the oven, go grab the oreo hearts and place them on top of the cake. Keep cooking
Refrigerate at least 4 hours then,
right before serving, decorare with some chocolate syrup drizzled on top of the hearts
