It is really easy to whip up a batch of this orange cream, all you need is some organic organges, some veggie milk and a bit of corn starch.

This recipe is gluten-free and dairy-free, so perfect for those with intolerance or who (like me) are following a more holistic approach to dieting.

Ingredients:

  • 4 egg yolks
  • juice of 1 orange (about 100ml)
  • zest of 1 organic orange
  • zest of 1 organic lemon
  • 30 g corn starch
  • 400 ml oat milk or rice milk
  • 50 g erythritol sugar (40g if using rice milk) (@zumub, use discount code: EXPATCUCINA)

In a saucepan whisk together egg yolks, sugar and zest of lemon and orange.

Sift in the flour and whisk until combined.

Next squeeze in the juice of 1 orange and slowly pour in the mylk, whisking constantly.

Bring mixture to a gentle boil over low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.

You can use this cream with cakes or serve it as it is with a side of fresh fruit.
