Easy & Quick Puff Pastry Apple Pie

Super simple and quick apple pie to make with just 3 ingredients!

This cake is for you people out there with no cooking skills and little time available!

All you need is 3 ingredients! No mixing, no kneading, no weighting anything. Could it get any easier?

Now, there is just 1 thing that you need to keep in mind and pay attention to: the apple needs to be sliced very thin, the slices need to fold easily without breaking.

I whipped this up in really no time, for an unexpected Sunday lunch at some friends’ house. I assembled the cake and while it was baking I was in the shower getting ready! #multitasking

  • 1 round roll of puff pastry
  • 2 red or yellow medium-size apples
  • 4 tbsp granulated white sugar
  • 2 – 3 tbsp orange jam
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

First off, cut the puff pastry measuring it up with a 22 cm springform pan. You will need about 1.5 cm edge. Cut it right in the centre and keep the leftovers, we will use them for the filling. Cut them into 1 cm thick strips.

Store it in your fridge while you move on to slicing the apples. Make sure to get very thin slices which will not break when folded.

Lay the bottom of your springform pan with the puff pastry

Brush the bottom of the cake with a few tbsp of orange jam. Start laying around the edges 2 rounds of sliced apples, then make one round with the puff pastry strips. Brush with more jam.

Repeat until you reach the centre.

Refrigerate for 20 minutes. When the cake is cold, sprinkle the granulated sugar on top and bake in pre-heated oven at 200 C at the lower rack for 20 min, then turn down temperature to 180 C, move the cake up on middle rack and keep baking for 10-12 more minutes.

Once it is nice and caramelised on top your pie is ready! Remove it from the oven and let it cool down completely.

Last, sprinkle the top with some powdered sugar, slice it and serve it up!
