Fresh and delicious chocolate ice cream recipe which is easy to make and a total crowd pleaser!
I don’t know about where you guys live, but here in Salento it is still quite warm and ice cream is still something we crave.
Yes, it might be the last batch of homemade gelato for this 2019, but hey I still wanted to share it here.
The recipe is simple and will give you a creamy sweet ice cream. It comes from SMEG gelato attachment cookbook. In fact, for those of you who don’t know yet, I have recently purchased SMEG new stand mixer attachment and I am COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH IT!
Let’s churn some gelato, shall we?
- 380 g whole fat milk
- 60 g sugar
- 110 g condensed milk
- 48 g unsweetened cacao powder
- 2 g salt
In a saucepan heat up milk and sugar turning off the heat just before it reaches boiling point. Stir well to make sure the sugar has dissolved
In a large bowl stir together condensed milk and cacao powder. Add a pinch of salt too.
Slowly pour in the milk stirring fro bottom to top. Move the bowl to your fridge to chill.
Transfer the chilled mixture to your ice cream maker and process based on manufacturer instructions until creamy. In my SMEG stand mixer attachment it took about 30 min.
Serve the ice cream right up or store in your freezer for up to 2 weeks.
This turned out creamy and not overly sweet
