Resolution Booster

Start the day with a booster blend to fuel your body with heathy fibers, fats and help your body detox from the holidays!

January is the month of new year resolutions and goals. Most of us list down all the things we want to achieve and this is a GREAT thing to do, keeps us motivated and definitely help us kick start a number of new habits.

However most resolution lists fail just after a few months. Why? Cause most of the time we expect too much from ourselves, with changes that are just too far away from our current situation and most likely not sustainable in the long term.

For example, if you rarely walk but end up listing as a goal to walk 15k-20k a day, trust me you most likely will not be able to achieve it. Setting up smaller and more suitable goals will allow you to actually stick to them. So setting a daily goal of for example 5-8k steps a day would be easier and sustainable.

Another goal which I often see listed in new year resolutions is to eat clean and healthy and stick to no/low carb, low fat, lots of veggies and little to no alcohol. Well….again, if you are not used to eat regularly veggies in your daily diet, or if your current diet is far from being low carb or healthy, well setting such an ambitious goal will most likely end into failure.

A more sustainable change would be for example to start the day with a green smoothie so that you make sure to incorporate some veggies into your daily diet, or to limit alcohol to one glass of wine a day, or a few drinks over the weekend.

Anything that does not revolutionalize our routine but that just brings SMALL changes, will not be perceived as a real change and we will be able to stick to it.

So today I want to share with you an easy blend recipe, something that you can easily incorporate into your diet to bring health and nutrition.

A blend and not a juice, yes. Blends will preserve all the fibres in the veggies and fruit, while juices only keep the sugars and are actually small sugar bombs. Too much sugar (also if natural sugar) will cause insuline picks and crushes which are the basic of weight gain and hunger.

This blend is easy, tasty and super simple. All you need is:

  • 2 cups raw kale
  • 1/2 green apple
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp coconut vinegar
  • fresh mint leaves
  • Hymalaian salt

Place all the ingredients into a blender and process until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
