Super Healthy Blood Orange Jam
Low-carb and gluten-free speedy orange jam, made with chia seeds and erytrithol sugar!

Greetings from Italy! How are you folks doing? I have been enjoying a week of sun, clean air and good food already. I am in Lecce, where I landed last Saturday and where I will be for the next 2 weeks.
Life here is SO good and so relaxing. I am eating plenty of tasty meals made by my mom, lots of fresh fruit and veggies and a tun of seafood. I couldn’t be happier 🙂
Before leaving Shanghai, I made this jam with blood orange and chia seeds. It is super yummy and SO healthy. For sweetener I used xylitol sugar and the chia seeds worked as thickener.
Give this a try!
- 4 large blood oranges (peeled, keep skin of 2)
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/4 cup Erythritol (@ZUMUB, discount code: EXPATCUCINA)
Grab some nice, juicy bloody orange. Wash them
Peel 2, make sure to just cut off the orange part, and not the white and cut it into small strips. Place the orange into a blender and process until all segments are broken up. Remove any pits.
Move the processed oranges, peels, sugar and chia seeds into a saucepan
Bring to a simmer and cook on very low heat for about 1h30 min or 2 hours. You want most of the liquid to be absorbed.
Let your jam cool down, then store it into glass jar and place into your fridge for up to 2 weeks.
