Red Lentil Hummus

Red Lentil Hummus

I love hummus, it’s healthy, tasty, packed with protein and good fats and the right amount of the right carbs. I have made several version of hummus: the classic roasted garlic one, the white beans and basil or my favorite beetroot hummus!

Today I decided to try make hummus using red lentils. Lentils have more fiber and protein than chickpeas so they make it even healthier!

Give it a try!

  • 1 cup of cooked red lentils
  • 1 clove chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon tahini
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper
  • chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin

Grab some nice red lentil and boil them to get 1 full cup

Place all ingredients in a blender a process until creamy

Transfer into a container, drizzle some more olive oil and dust with red chili powder and ground black pepper

Store in your fridge for up to 3 days. Serve it with pita bread and fresh veggies.
