It snowed in Shanghai yesterday!
When I woke up in the morning and went to open the curtains in my bedroom I found outside everything was covered in snow. You guys know I do not deal very well with cold weather but if there is one thing I love about it then that is snow.
During the holiday it snowed for a whole day, it was cold so my friend and I decided to spend the night in watching movies. For the occasion I made this pork chops, I cooked and brought everything over to her place. We had a lovely night!
Here is the recipe.
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 4 pork chops
- zest from 1 lemon
- 1.5 tbsp fresh theme, rosemary, dill
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup champagne
- salt & pepper
Remove excess fat from the pork chops
then season each of them with salt and pepper
Grate the lemon zest and mince the fresh herbs, set aside
In a skillet heat up oil and butter, add the pork chops and cook on both sides for a few minutes
Add the lemon zest and minced herbs, give it a minute
then pour the champagne, turn up the heat and let it reduce
Remove from the skillet and serve immediately
This meat is better if eaten right off the pan as this way it remains soft and tender.
