I’m very much into tea recently…not sure you have noticed…have you?
Well, more than into tea itself I’m very much into the cookies that pair it…Last experiment I did resulted into this tea-bag-shaped cookies. Definitely an original idea to space things up a bit and to offer something a bit extravagant to your guest for tea time.
Here is how you make them.
Ingredients (makes about 30):
- 250 g all purpose flour
- 110 g powdered sugar
- 100 g unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 egg yolks
- 80 g dark chocolate
In a bowl combine flour and butter
and crumble it with a fork or your hands until it reassemble coarse meal
Sift in the powdered sugar
add the egg yolks and vanilla extract
and mix until all the ingredients are combined and you get a smooth dough. Wrap it up into plastic paper and refrigerate for about 30 min
Next up, roll out the dough into a rectangular shape, about 7 mm thick. Cut out small rectangles (3*2 cm)
then with a knife remove the 2 top corners
and using a tooth stick (or chopstick), make a small holl in the top-center
Bake your tea-bag cookies at 180 for about 15 min or until the edges starts to get golden. Remove and let them cool down
In a microwave proof bowl melt the chocolate
and dip in each cookie about 1 cm deep
place on parchment paper and let it stand until chocolate is set
Now, grab some string and use it to hang off each tea bag your logo/picture/ guest name Serve with your preferred tea selection
Definitely a great idea for an afternoon with your girlfriends and friends
