I love tofu,
it’s easy
tasty
quick to cook
and it makes me feel a bit Asian…
When I was still with my ex, I remember him complaining every time I was trying to cook Chinese/Asian food. He told me I was not able to and that I should have better stick to making tasty Italian food. I never agreed on that and since, for me, the fun in cooking is in experimenting and creating new recipes, I kept on trying and I’ll tell you something, I’ve got quite good at it.
I particularly like cooking tofu, as it is very easy. If you feel like it, try this recipe. I’m sure you won’t regret it 🙂
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 1 block firm tofu (300 g)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp chili salt
- 1 tbsp corn starch
Start by cutting the tofu into big cubes
then sprinkle them on each side with the corn starch
Next, add chili salt
In a skillet heat up the vegetable oil and cook the tofu on medium on all sides
Add to it the sesame oil, soy sauce and chili powder and keep cooking, turning it around gently, until it gets a nice golden-brown color
Remove from the skillet and serve
This was easy, quick and very tasty, give it a try!
