Since I moved to China, almost 5 years ago (oh gosh time flies), I’ve been enjoyed eating tofu.
Soy is known to be a great healthy food, packed with protein and low in fat. Problem is tofu itself does not have a strong flavor and to make it a bit tasty you often end up frying it or dressing it with lots of oil and sauces.
I am trying to keep things bit simple and healthy in my kitchen recently and tofu is one of the key ingredient that I am using, thus I decided to find a recipe that could give it a bit of flavor without adding extra calories and fats.
This is the result: tofu seasoned with fresh parsley and paprika and baked in the oven. Great in your salad or with some boiled spinach or broccoli!
Ingredients:
- 1 block firm tofu (400 gr)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp of
Grab the tofu
and slice it up
In a bowl combine cornstarch, salt. Add 1/2 tsp of garlic, chives and ginger mix
paprika (I used 1/2 a tsp but you can add more if you like things a bit more spicy)
and fresh chopped parsley
sprinkle the mixture onto the tofu pressing down to make it adhere well
do so on both sides
Then bake at 200 C for about 20/25 min. Remove from the oven, let the tofu cool down a bit then serve.
I did love it!
Hope you’ll like it too
