Chocolate Swivel Cookies

Saying that this past week has been INSANE does not really convey how busy I have been!

– the new job at the office

– my private website project about which, I promise, I’ll tell you more VERY soon!

– my pole dance, which I have started again after a 2 month break due to my knee injury

– about 3 b-day all on the same week

– networking events

– and a new cooking project I am working on now which I will reveal to you as soon as it becomes something more than just a dream! Soon I hope…

I was really looking forward to this weekend, to rest a bit and to get myself to the kitchen and experiment a bit. I’ve actually cooked a lot the past two days so stay tuned cause next week there going to be many, many new recipes 😀

Let’s start with this cookie recipe! I LOVED THEM..and they are very easy…which is always good. I already did a similar recipe a while ago. They are different tho so try them both and let me know which one you like better 🙂


  • 1- 2/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • zest from 1 whole orange
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1/2 cup chocolate cream (like Nutella)

In a bowl cream sugar and butter together until they are light and fluffy

Add in the egg and beat well until it is incorporated

Next up, add the orange zest

the flour

and the baking powder

and mix all the ingredients together until you get a very smooth and soft dough. Wrap it up in plastic paper and refrigerate for about 1 h

1 hour later roll out the dough into a rectangular shape covering it up on both side with plastic wrap. Make it about 2 mm thick.

Remove the wrap on top

grab the chocolate cream

and spread it across the rectangular leaving a couple of mm from the edges

Then slowly roll it up

Cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a couple of hours or for about 30 min in the freezer. When ready cut it up into slices and place each slice on parchment paper

and bake at 180 C (375 F ) for about 10- 12 min. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool down on a wire rack.

The Valentine’s idea: once you slice them up, using a heart shape cookie cutter, shape them like hearts and serve them to your loved one on Valentine’s day.

Or if you are single, like me, just enjoy them for breakfast with a nice, warm cup of cappuccino or hot chocolate, because loving yourself is what really matters!
