July the 4th is only one week ahead of us and I know for u guys in the States this is a very important celebration. I know cause I live with an American and for him there is no 4th of July without a house party with bbq, potatoes, salads and lots of other treats.
When I made this dish the other day I immediately thought it was a great finger food idea for a party!
I am definitely going to make this next Monday together with my July 4th salad (which I will share with you in the coming days) and my July 4th flag cake!
Ingredients (makes 6 titbits):
- 6 small round potatoes
- 6 slices of bacon (cut thin)
- 6 slices of emmenthal cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp olive oil
Grab these nice, round, petit potatoes
wash’ em, peel off the skin and boil them in a pot with 1 tsp of salt until cooked (about 15 min)
Next up, take out of the refrigerator some emmenthal cheese
cut it into thin slices
Take the bacon and cut each slice in half
Now we are going to wrap each potato in the emmenthal cheese
and the in the bacon, sealing the 3 with a toothpick
Place the tidbits in a slightly oiled baking tray
and bake them at 200 C for about 20 min or until nice and crispy on top
Move them on a serving plate
Enjoy warm!
