My boyfriend and I have very different ideas regarding breakfast…well, I’d better say that my bf has weird taste about what he likes to eat for breakfast…
I’ll make it easier. For me breakfast equals a few simple things:
- Coffee
- Milk (cappuccino, would be nice)
- Cookies
- Toast with butter and jam
For him, instead, breakfast equals:
- Noodles
- Soy sauce and sesame oil
- Garlic
- Eggs
Do we ever eat breakfast together?
Rarely
the problem is that I’ll never get used to his weird breakfast taste. Every day I’m on my motor pilot and give him cereals, french toasts, pancakes and he eats them, all of what I prepare for him until one day, when he randomly asks “Dani, can I have noodles in miso soup?” There I remember, his half Chinese side will always be part of him…
So I make him noodles, or eggs with garlic, or miso soup
well…because I like him…
This is us…cute?
This noodles are what he requested last Sunday…I save some and ate them for lunch…
It’s all about finding balance in a relationship…
Ingredients (for one serving):
- 100 g spaghetti (or soba noddles, or egg tagliatelle)
- 1 egg
- 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 1.5 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tbsp green onion
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 pinch of salt
Bring some water to a boil and drop in about 100 g of spaghetti
and cook them according to package instruction. DO NOT ADD SALT…we are making “Chinese” food here…not Italian
While the pasta is cooking, in a skillet heat up 1/2 tsp of olive oil, then crack in one egg
add a pinch of salt then flip it over
In a bowl combine, soy sauce, sesame oil and canola oil. Add in the spaghetti
Stir around then squeeze in 1 clove garlic
add some chopped green onion, stir well. Taste it and see if the seasoning needs some adjustment
Next grab the egg and place it right on top of the noodles
add some more chopped green onion
and serve!
I did enjoy this spaghetti for lunch, so either you are like my bf or like me, this can be a quick meal/breakfast idea.
Enjoy 🙂
