Debbie is my bf’s lovely mom
Here she is! This picture was taken during my first visit in SF, about 2 and a half years ago, right after I landed
Yes, she is Asian! Why are you asking? She was born and raised in Taiwan, after her family had to escape from mainland China. In her early 20’s she went to the US and there she met her husband…What a lovely, romantic story!
I love everything she cooks, especially her delicious stir-fry tofu, but this cabbage recipe is definitely one of my favorite ones!
Try it and you wont be disappointed
Ingredients:
- 1 medium purple cabbage
- 3 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp xiang oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- vinegar (about 3 tbsp but more if you like)
- parsley
Start by chopping the cabbage in very thin slices
Put it in a big bowl
Take some parsley
chop it up and add it to the bowl
Now it’s time to dress the baby, this is what you need
Sprinkle sesame seeds all over you chopped cabbage
then add soy sauce, sesame oil, xiang oil, and vinegard. Taste and add more if you think it is needed.
Toss it around and enjoy
This goes perfectly with stakes or other meat dishes
