Picnic Food

I am going to spend the weekend experimenting with coffee and I will tell you what magic things will happen in my kitchen on Monday. Today enjoy this easy picnic food!

I prepared this dish a long time ago, but I’ve always forgotten to post the recipe…I made it the Sunday when my friends and I decided to go picnic in a little, quite park in Shanghai outskirts. We had sooo much fun:

We ate

We danced

We layed on the grass and relax…

For the occasion I prepared a yogurt cake (delicious) and this puff pastry rolls. They were a success! Try’ em sometime soon 🙂

First thing, prepare your bechamel sauce, or go and buy it…but it won’t taste the same…Trust me!

Take your puff pastry and roll it out in a circle (you can make it yourself, or just buy it pre-made, Smartdirect.cn sells it for about 38 yuan).

On top, spread the bechamel sauce.

Then lay the smoked ham

And on top of it the mozzarella cut into slices.

Now take one edge of the pastry and fold it right in the middle.

Then fold it to itself

Now take the other edge and fold it on top.

Seal it well!

Coat the surface with some milk and bake for about 40 min at 180 C, or until it gets a golden brown color.

Let it cool down, then cut into slices and serve! YUMMMMMMMYYYY!
