I need to sleep! Yesterday night I was invited to this Food and Drink award party organized by That’s Shanghai with open bar…I didn’t drink much but my bf really abused the free drinks and by the time we got home he was ballistic drunk , drunk beyond his own ability of being drunk…totally wasted…so we spend a good half an hour throwing up in the bathroom, I mean he was throwing up, I was just there for moral support and to avoid that his puke fell anywhere but in the toilet…
But before going to this party we had a light and quick dinner at home and I made this delicious chicken dish!
I have already told you how much I am recently into sesame oil. I’m just in love with it! Yesterday I even dressed my salad with it, soy sauce, salt, vinegar and sesame seeds…it was just lovely!
This is a very simple chicken recipe to which I have added some sesame oil to add a little spin! The result was a soft, tasty meat…perfect with some white long grain rice.
- 500 g chicken
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 2-3 tbsp canola oil
- 1 clove of garlic
Prepare the sauce by mixing the sugar with the soy sauce
Add the sesame oil, salt and chopped garlic
Dump in a few tbsp of canola or corn oil and hot water (just to give the dressing the right texture) and it’s ready.
Now chop into cubes your chicken breast.
Place it in a bowl and pour in the dressing. Let it marinate for about 30 min (at least).
Heat some corn or canola oil in a skillet
Through in the chicken with it’s dressing
cook at high heat for a few minute
When ready, turn off the heat and sprinkle some freshly chopped green onion.
Mix well. Serve in hot
