Caprese Salad is a very simple recipe that takes his name from the city it comes from, Capri (in Campania). It is made of sliced fresh buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes and basil, seasoned with salt and olive oil.
This dish is also known as a Tricolore salad due to its three colours which resemble the Italian flag 🙂
Ingredients (for 2 people):
- 100 g buffalo mozzarella
- 1 big tomato
- basil, salt, olive oil
Slice tomato and mozzarella and wash the basil
In a plate, pour in some olive oil, than alternate one slide of tomato and one of mozzarella. Add a pinch of salt, more oil and some chopped fresh basil.
This dish is perfect for the summer or as a light lunch to bring to the office.
